205 Linux on mainframe

Our book mentions a large IBM computer, the zSeries, running hundreds of Linux virtual machines on one mainframe machine. Here's what IBM has to say about it. To me, this combination of the old, centralized, huuuge machine idea with the open-source, decentralized, personal Linux idea is striking. It also brings to mind this famous article on open-source computing, The Cathedral and the Bazaar, by Eric Raymond. The paper also became a book published by O'Reilly. IBM has been working hard to exploit both the mega and micro views.
