242 project: more examples of articles and sources
This newspaper article is about how people interpret facial expressions, which seems to vary depending on one's culture. I wasted a lot of time pointing and clicking on a publisher's site that would not let me in — directly. When I went to the Psychology link among NVCC's library databases, the same site was available at the top of the list. Silly me! The source is loaded with statistics that we have already studied and some that we will see soon.
(If you use the library website off-campus, you will need to log in with your NovaConnect name and password to read subscriber-only databases.)
"Scientific performance steadily declined with increasing beer consumption": gee whiz. Click for article, source.
Smoking marijuana is bad for your gums, too: click for article, source. I was frustrated looking at the NVCC library page for this source, but found it almost immediately via Google.
This article on pancreatic cancer in families is not going to be appropriate for this project because the source is way too long and not very statistical. However, the source's reference on "statistical analysis" and some digging around did yield this interesting description of the statistical software the researchers used.
